May's Recipe Round Up
will be at Whatever Things…
Recipes Around The World
This month’s recipe category will be recipes unique either to the part of the world or country you live or where you’re from originally. It’s a bit like “The Great British Menu,” but with a worldwide focus.
The recipe can be for Snacks, Starters, Main Courses, Desserts, Cakes, Biscuits or even a Hot or Cold drink recipe.
Doesn’t this sound like fun?
The date is Thursday, May 15th and there’s a giveaway, too. Read all the details.
Sandwich Assembly
You’ll find lots of excellent sandwich ideas in the recipes collected in this month’s Recipe Round Up at Fieldstone Cottage.
Dorothy says she’ll be updating her Round Up post throughout the day, so it’s not too late for you to contribute your sandwich recipe, too. She says,
just send me the links to your recipes in the comments to this post or my original post with the guidelines. And don’t forget the exciting drawing sponsored by our very own Rebecca. Everyone who participates is eligible!
Thanks to Dorothy for hosting the Recipe Round Up this month. If you would like to host a Recipe Round Up, too, the coming months are wide open for volunteers. Just let me know that you’d like to help out in the comments of this post. If you are unsure what hosting involves, here’s the page with all the info you need.
April's Recipe Round Up Coming Soon
Date: Thursday, April 17th
Category: Sandwiches
We all fix ‘em, we all eat ‘em, so let’s broaden our repertoire and share our secret recipes. Now, my definition of sandwich is not limited to something enclosed in two slices of bread. Those sandwiches are very welcome, of course, but so are the ones served on a bun, a roll, a wrap…any filling enclosed by some sort of dough.
For all the details, plus information on how you can be included in the draw for a copy of The Taste of Home Cookbook, go here.
Recipe Round Up: Side Dishes
The goods to go with the rest at The Accidental Pastor’s Wife.
Thanks, Julie, for hosting this month’s Recipe Round Up.
People Get Ready
Juloyes of The Accidental Pastor’s Wife, who is hosting this month’s Recipe Round Up, has posted the whole scoop—everything you need to know to participate.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have trouble coming up with creative, healthy (or not so healthy!) side dishes for my meals. How many different ways can I make green beans? Is there anything else I can do with brown rice? I need a new pasta sauce. Broccoli and cauliflower-must it always have cheese sauce?
I’ve decided to stretch you all a bit and make side dishes the March Recipe Round-Up.
So the category is side dishes. The day is next Tuesday, March 18th.
Post the recipe on your blog, then send me the link and on that day I’ll post everyone’s links. It will be just in time for Easter dinner menu planning.
There you go! Please consider promoting this month’s Recipe Round Up on your blog by linking to Julie’s informational post.
And I am still looking for someone to host April’s Recipe Round Up, which will be the one year anniversary of the round up. If you are interested in hosting, but are unsure how to go about it, you should find all you need to know here. I’ve got a little surprise up my sleeve in regards to April’s Recipe Round Up, so if you want in on the secret early, why not volunteer to host?
The Top of the Morning

Mini French Toast and a Reminder
Big Bloggy Breakfasts, It Is!

The next Recipe Round Up will be over at Elaine’s house. Elaine writes:
I’m hosting February’s Round-up here at Home But Not Alone and the big day is Wednesday 20 February.
I’m always looking for inspiration in this department especially when I have visitors coming (which I have) so the theme is Breakfasts.
She is also giving away a cookbook. Learn more about how to particpate and how to get your name in the draw for a cookbook.
There you go: Wednesday, February 20th, Breakfast at Home, but not alone. See you there.

- In a small bowl, beat eggs. Add buttermilk and vanilla; mix well. Stir into cocoa mixture.
- Pour into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan.

Frosting
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1/3 cup milk
