…she isn’t just any old female theologian; she’s also a domestic diva.

The Upward Call

Do you have a last name, Rebecca?

Yep, my last name is Stark. And in real life, I go by Becky rather than Rebecca.

The Yukon is in Alaska, right?

It’s right next to Alaska, but it’s one of Canada’s territories. Don’t feel bad that you didn’t know this; some Canadian customs officers don’t know it either.

What’s it like up there in the frozen north?

It’s like everywhere else and nowhere else. And it’s only frozen for eight months out of the year.

Do you have a family?

I’m a widow with four grown children, although two of them, along with their pets, still live with me. That means I live with two dogs and two cats, too.

What can I expect to find on you blog?

I write primarily about faith and theology, but also about other things that interest me. like headless chickens and bears’ tails, for instance.

What’s the most popular thing here?

The page with the most hits—and by a long shot—is the Theological Terms in Alphabetical Order, which makes all the work I put in the Theological Term of the Week posts worth every minute.

Anything else I should ask?

You could ask me what my favorite Bible verse is.

Okay, so what’s you favorite Bible verse?

2 Corinthians 4:6: “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

And why do you like it?

I like knowing that the same power that brought the whole of creation out of nothing by command is the power that shone in my heart bringing new creation there. And I like pondering the beautiful and mysterious phrase “the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
