Thanksgiving 1

This time of year can be difficult for me for reasons I’ll not share. Today I’m thankful for “frowning providences.” Because, you know, the clouds do always eventually “break in blessings.”

And while I’m at it, can I say that I’m thankful for William Cowper?

What are you thankful for?

Here are three ways you can join in the thanksgiving.

  • Mention something you’re thankful for in the comments here and I’ll included it in one of my thanksgiving posts, or
  • Email me to tell me what you’re thankful for and I’ll include it in a post, or
  • Post your thankful thought(s) on your own blog, send me the link(s), and I’ll link to your post(s). If you plan to make your thanksgiving posts daily during the month, let me know that and you won’t need to send me daily links.

More details here.

I so enjoyed the song. I've never heard of the phrase "frowning providence" but there is great wisdom in it. Thanks for sharing.

William Cowper is an encouragement to me as well. The 'frowning providences' ultimately lead to the blessing of the smile of God---something to be thankful for.

Thanks, Rebecca, for hosting this month.

I'll be joining in daily. Giving thanks especially when you feel like whining and complaining is a really good practice. That's where I am right now so I will definitely be joining.

I'm thankful my husband has a paying job, homeschooling is still legal in this country, no one in our family has the swine flu, we have food to eat, for fall weather, for working vehicles, for old friends, for music, for the ability to talk.
