Thanksgiving 7

I’m thankful for my Foley food mill. My old one, which I got used more than 20 years ago, finally rusted through and I couldn’t find another one. I couldn’t get a new one shipped to Canada (warranty issues, they say) and the food mills I found in the stores were garbage compared to my old trusty Foley.

I wanted one, you see, to make applesauce. Nothing beats homemade applesause and nothing works for applesauce as well as a foley food mill. No peeling, no coring, just quartering and cooking and turning the mill.

Thankfully, my youngest son found me a gently used Foley food mill on eBay and it came in the mail yesterday. I made applesauce last night and then again this afternoon.

While I’m at it, I think I’ll thank God for eBay and cheap, sweet apples, too. Oh yes, and my son.

What are you thankful for today?

Here are three ways you can join in the thanksgiving.

  • Mention something you’re thankful for in the comments here and I’ll included it in one of my thanksgiving posts, or
  • Email me to tell me what you’re thankful for and I’ll include it in a post, or
  • Post your thankful thought(s) on your own blog, send me the link(s), and I’ll link to your post(s). If you plan to make your thanksgiving posts daily during the month, let me know that and you won’t need to send me daily links.

More details here.

If you’ve got a thanksgiving post and I missed it, please let me know so I can add your link.
